Prestige Wrought Iron was originally founded in 1992 as Dean Wilson Iron, with a view to provide southeast Queenslanders with high-quality wrought iron products made in Australia.
One of Queensland’s Premier Blacksmiths
We quickly made a name as one of Queensland’s premier blacksmiths, designing and forging original wrought iron gates and fences for the most part, but also creating balustrades, security doors, custom furniture, and any project suited to wrought iron. We became the guys who knew how to get it done, and with excellence.
Today, Prestige Wrought Iron is owned and operated by Joel and Jodie Dean, with Joel being the lead blacksmith for projects, and Jodie taking charge of the business side of things. We also employ four experienced tradesmen who help us carry out our projects to a high standard.
As the company evolved, we realised that what we’re most passionate about, and what our customers really appreciate the most, is designing and forging wrought iron products that stop people in their tracks, and make them say “wow.” So we keep this in mind for every part of our production process, which considers not just the aesthetic and architectural style of your home, but also what is personally important to you.
Our design process is supported by the conversations we have, which helps to unearth your design preferences, your passions, and your values, which we use to design a wrought iron product that is truly personal and meaningful to you. Some of our clients even get emotional when they first see what we’ve created—a wonderful compliment that we love. To keep achieving this kind of fantastic response, every one of our projects is drawn from scratch. We never import from overseas, because quality and originality are our biggest priorities.

We’ve worked on a variety of projects over the years, designing, forging, and installing gates and fences for famous cathedrals, restaurants, wineries, microbreweries, apartment complexes, and luxury homes, to name a few. Our clients include some of the country’s wealthiest people, including famous mining magnates, as well as leading architects, councils, and high-calibre businesses like Cloudland in the Valley.
